GPT Industries host a discussion on the changing pipeline conditions that have given rise to challenges affecting pipeline flange face corrosion in the region. The pipeline industry has undergone significant changes over the past 75 years. New exotic metallurgies have been introduced to further resist the aggressive media and chemicals that are now often found in oil and gas streams, such as sour gas, chlorides, and steam. Pressures and temperatures have increased, and emissions reduction requirements have become a way of life for most companies. Meanwhile, the operation of a fire-safe pipeline has also become a higher priority. How do these challenges affect flange corrosion and how can they be overcome?
In the battle to reduce emissions globally, operators are looking at new ways they can diversify their energy portfolios and reduce the impact of traditional methods of energy production. The adoption of Hydrogen is now at the forefront of the new energy mix and has been accelerated considerably in recent years. The urgency to diversify has led to engineers across multiple industries to seek and understand the potential hazards, issues, and considerations this new energy source brings. In this webcast, we explore the role of sealing and flange isolation on pipeline infrastructure, a critical component in making Hydrogen a viable energy source for the future.
Pipeline corrosion professionals within the Middle East must navigate various challenges that were once a minor inconvenience, and have now become an everyday concern. Increase in chemicals in pipeline, the use of steam, increased pressures and temperatures, fire safety, sour gas and emissions are all currently at the forefront of industry professionals' minds. In this webcast, we will explore the resultant effects these challenges have on corrosion prevention, in particular the effects on Electrical Isolation Kits and how to overcome these challenges.
An MIJ (Monolithic Isolation Joint) is comprised of several key components. In this webinar we will take a deep dive into each component that makes up an MIJ in an effort to provide the information and context that is necessary to properly specify an MIJ either for your project or for your company as a whole. It will serve as a buyers guide to MIJs. We will discuss scenarios and different variables that impact the requirements of the MIJ in your system and provide suggestions on how to approach them to optimize the performance of your CP System and your pipeline health overall.
In this educational webinar, we will be exploring Isolation and sealing within the Water industry delving into the most common issues that arise and navigating you through the solutions. Preventing leakages while maintaining isolation brings additional complications for users to focus on. This coupled with the sheer scale of water pipeline applications only magnifies the issues and difficulties encountered. Water absorption and permeation are also critical factors that need to be accounted for which can be often overlooked. Through our extensive history of supporting the water industry, we have learned valuable insights that we look forward to sharing.
Protecting your pipeline from corrosion isn't easy. There are numerous methods and solutions available, and each application has its unique challenges. In this webinar, we intend to navigate you through one such dilemma, Flange Isolation Kits or Monolithic joint?
GPT has been innovating and manufacturing high quality and reliable Flange Isolation Gaskets for over a century, under the brand Pikotek which is well recognized and used by all major end-users globally. GPT Pikotek brand of Isolation Gasket kits history begins right from the start of using Wood for manufacturing Isolation Gaskets to then Phenolics, replaced later by Glass Reinforced Epoxy - GRE and metal cored GRE.
GPT invites you to another installment of its Technical Corner webinars hosted by the GPT engineering group. In this edition, we will be exploring Isolation and sealing within the Water industry delving into two of the most common issues that arise. Namely, large diameter pipelines and the impact water absorption and permeation have on Isolation Gaskets.
GPT invites you to another edition of our Technical Corner webinar hosted by the GPT engineering group. In this segment, we will be exploring which applications isolation joints and kits can and should be used, why isolation should be used and how to maximize the effectiveness of isolation in the entire piping system. We will also be delving into different applications for up, mid and downstream applications. There are areas that many people recognize as standard areas for isolating pipelines, however there are other areas that can offer various benefits, some of which are not widely known and/or commonly overlooked.
Join GPT for a unique insight into the effects and potential dangers that corrosion causes in oil & gas pipelines. In this webinar we will focus on fire, its frequency, the resulting effects and the ways to protect your assets and personnel from this potentially catastrophic occurrence. Fire safety for isolation gaskets and kits is an often overlooked and important aspect of the Oil and Gas industry. Pipelines frequently carry hazardous and flammable media such as oil, gasoline, and natural gas.
GPT invites you to our next Technical Corner webinar hosted by the GPT engineering team. In this edition we will explore Natural Gas and LNG applications, the challenges and considerations when sealing and isolating. Natural gas demand continues to rise across the globe and in recent months global gas prices hit record highs and demand is only expected to increase. Ensuring transportation infrastructure, such as pipelines, are performing optimally, it is vital that operators keeping pace with the increasing demands of today and tomorrow.
GPT invites you to join us for our latest Technical Corner webinar entitled “ Lets “torque” about Flange Isolation Kit Installation”. Improper installation of Isolation gasket kits is the most common issue we see at GPT and according to industry failure analysis more than 80% of all gasket failures are due to incorrect user installation. So, why is this so common and what can be done to avoid incorrect Installation?
The pipeline industry has changed tremendously over the past 75 years. Pipeline metallurgy has become stronger and less prone to corrosion. New exotic metallurgies have been introduced to further resist the chemicals that are now often found in oil and gas streams, such as sour gas, chlorides, and steam. Pressures and temperatures have increased, and emissions reduction requirements have become a way of life for most companies. Meanwhile, the operation of a fire safe pipeline has also become a higher priority.
No one can argue that pipelines have changed tremendously in the last 75 years. Pipeline metallurgy has become stronger and less prone to corrosion. New exotic metallurgies have been introduced to further resist the chemicals that are now often found in oil and gas streams (sour gas, chlorides and steam). Pressures and temperatures have increased and emission reduction requirements have become a way of life for most companies. Meanwhile, the operation of a fire safe pipeline has also become a higher priority.
Conditions have been changing in the oil and gas industry over the last 50 years, and this has had a significant effect on pipelines. Isolation products have also struggled to keep up with the changing conditions.
Join GPT for a unique insight into the most common failure modes of isolation gaskets and how to avoid and overcome these issues. GPT's application engineering team is exposed to various challenges and issues faced by corrosion professionals. In this educational webinar we will review two of the most common failure scenarios.
Isolation plays a vital piece in the fight against corrosion. However, isolation in a cathodic protection system is not always used, isolation kits may malfunction, and/or an isolating kit may be found to not be isolating and might be replaced by a non-isolating gasket. What effect on the piping system, personnel and costs does this have? This webinar will delve into the cause/effect analysis when isolation is not part of the cathodic protection package (whether intentional or unintentional)
In 2017, a paper titled “In Defense of the Monolithic Isolation Joint” was presented at a NACE CORROSION symposium. The paper was in response to an earlier NACE Symposium paper that characterized the monolithic isolation joint as a weak link in pipeline integrity. GPT examined the potential failure points identified in this earlier work and offered strategies based on our experience in the field to ensure that monolithic isolation joints serve their purpose of eliminating the well-documented cathodic protection challenges historically presented by flanged connections.
